Research Process

The research process so far has been quite stressful. I think the hardest part is narrowing down the specific topic you want to investigate. From the beginning I knew I wanted to do something with animals but coming up with an original and interesting question that has a lot of research to support it is quite difficult. I eventually revised my question to be: Do humans feel more ethical obligations toward animals that they perceive as more human? I will be examining this from three different cases, companion animals, wild animals, and farm animals. I feel as though I have a lot still left to do. I need to gather all my sources and organize them in order to support my claims. I need to make sure that my individual claims progress in order to form a conclusion and, eventually, a solution to the problem of animal abuse. I think it is much easier to find sources online that support your claims than in the New Humanities Reader but I am very happy with the NHR sources that I have chosen to use. They are helpful and interesting. The research paper seems like a daunting task but I think taking it in small steps makes it easier to manage.
