The Research Process at This Point

So far the research process has been very enlightening! My favorite part has been discovering many scholarly articles concerning the topic of narcissism. The library database has been very helpful in locating reliable sources for my paper. I was surprised to observe how narcissism could be a beneficial trait in the workforce through encouraging one to work harder to achieve entitlement. I was also surprised to see that many scholarly articles referenced Twenge from The New Humanities Reader, proving that she is a very reliable source to use in my research. The part that I have struggled with the most is fully developing a research question that was both specific and discussable based on the information that has already been published. I believe I have come up with something strong enough to analyze for my research paper: to what extent does higher education promote narcissistic personality traits, and how does this in turn effect relationships between co-workers in the business workforce? Another part of the research process that I am not sure about is whether my hypotheses will be supported or refuted by the information I will uncover through further reading. At this stage, I still have to completely analyze all of my articles/sources and draw definite conclusions from my findings. I am honestly a little overwhelmed by the sheer volume and weight of this one paper, but I find comfort in knowing that we will have a lot of time to complete it. I look forward to learning more about my topic through the completion of this project!
